What is RIA Color Run 3K?
RIA Color Run 3K is an unique fun experience that is all about bout enjoying an insanely color crazy festival of colors with your friends and family. It’s not timed. No timing chip. No clock. No PR. No pressure whatsoever. Walk, jog, skip, crawl or run but remember to have fun. Arguably RIA Color Run 3K is amongst the most affordable and insanely colorful fun race across the globe that one can enjoy on the occasion of Holi – the festival of colors. What is the inspiration behind RIA Color Run 3K? Get active, get fit and get happy! We hope that The Color Run can act as a catalyst to inspire continual healthy living. It will warm you up before we start playing Holi and help you make some room for some yummy food that you can purchase at the venue. Is there an age limit? No age limit. However kids below 12 must be accompanied by an adult. This is an event for participants of all ages, sizes, and shapes toeing the start line to set-off on 3k of insane colorful fun. Whether you are 5 or 105, a seasoned runner or a couch potato, whether you sprint, walk, or crawl, this event offers something for everybody. Is there a dress code? No dress code. We suggest wearing white, lots of white. White serves as an easel. White is also the epitome of clean and crisp. And against the blue Seattle sky, all the white is amazing. We promise to make it really colorful. By the time you cross the finish line you will be a moving abstract piece of art. What is the start time, starting point and end point for RIA Color Run 3K? RIA Color Run 3K will start at 2.15 PM on 3/15 from Bristol Park entrance and will end there. You need to report by 1.45 PM to get your ticket validated and pick-up your color bag. What happens if there is bad weather or rain? A little rain won't stop the color run fun. Remember it’s a rain or shine fun event. I am in. How do I register? How much is the ticket cost? There is no additional fee / ticket for the RIA Color Race 3K, all that you need to do is to buy the ticket for the RIA Holi from http://www.redmondindianassociation.org/tickets.html and you are eligible for the color run fun. At gate tickets will be available - age 12+ ticket is $9, age 4 to 12 is for $5, age 4 and less is free. This is probably the most affordable color run anywhere. If you have bought ticket for RIA Holi – you are already registered, just show up on time i.e., 1.45 PM. Do I need to sign any waiver? Yes. While buying the ticket you will need to sign a waiver. How is the color administered along the course? You will see smiling faces along the course whose main goal is to douse you in vibrant colors and turn you into a moving abstract piece of art. What kind of color will be thrown at me? The color powder used is made of cornstarch and is natural,bio-degradable and skin safe. You can eat it but we found that it does not taste that good. Can I walk with a jogging stroller and my kids? Yes you can walk/run with stroller and kids. Can I walk/ run with my dog or other pets? No dogs / pets at any of our races, please. Can I bike/cycle/roller-skate? No bike/cycle/roller-skate at our race, please. Oh remember the name “RIA Color Run 3k” How do the post-run color throws work? After the finish you will assemble at the park and you will be involved in a color throw every 30 minutes. With your ticket validation at the Bristol Park entrance, we will provide one bag of color and you can purchase more color bags at the venue. What are the safety tips for my eyes,nose and mouth? As with any substance, you want to keep it the color out of your eyes and our color throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by. You may want to wear glasses or goggles for your eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for your nose / mouth. Do you have “cleaning stations” at the venue? No. With a good dusting off, you aren’t completely clean, but you most likely are good for the drive home. It is actually pretty fun to see people still colorful around town after event. It is our badge of honor! How does the color affect the inside of cars? Most people bring some towels for the insides of their cars or a change of clothes just in case. We will provide you with courtesy plastic bags for you to carry your clothes. Will there be refund if the event is canceled for whatever reason? No refund since we have already incurred expenses for organizing this event. What is the RIA Color Run 3K route? Do I run on the road or side-walk? Ref map below, the RIA Color Run 3K will start from Bristol Park entrance, walkers will walk on NE Cedar Park Crescent towards the Rosa Park School circle ~1.5 Kms and turn back from the circle to return to Bristol Park entrance. You need to walk ONLY on the right side-walk while going towards the Rosa Park School and use the same sidewalk to return to Bristol Park entrance. We got permission from the county for this side-walk alone. There will not be any road closures, so watch out for cars etc., as you will usually do. |
